In the 1980s, his career continued with various individual and group exhibitions, while he gained a position as a drawing teacher in secondary education, settling in Vigo. He continued with his work as an engraver and book illustrator. At that time, he was appointed General Director of Culture of the Xunta de Galicia . Years later, already in the 1990s, he was the first director of the Galician Center for Contemporary Art (1993-1994).
