Antón Pulido

The Galician artist with more than fifty years of career, his painting evolves in style beginning in his early years with an impressionist and expressionist style until reaching abstraction. He held exhibitions all over the world, including those in Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. His style characterizes intimate moments to accentuate the fragility of being.

Born in Bóveda de Amoeiro (Ourense, Galicia in 1944), he began studying at the Orense seminary to later go to Barcelona, ​​where he studied Fine Arts specializing in painting and engraving. His first exhibition took place at the Ateneo de Orense (1971); Later he edited three folders of engravings in three series entitled "O home", "O abrazo" and "A espera" (1978, 1979 and 1981, respectively).

In the 1980s, his career continued with various individual and group exhibitions, while he gained a position as a drawing teacher in secondary education, settling in Vigo. He continued with his work as an engraver and book illustrator. At that time, he was appointed General Director of Culture of the Xunta de Galicia . Years later, already in the 1990s, he was the first director of the Galician Center for Contemporary Art (1993-1994).
