Alejo

Born in Havana, Cuba in 1955. As a young man he studied Fine Arts and Architecture and at the age of 38 he moved to live in Barcelona, ​​the city where he currently resides. Since he was a child he always liked to paint since his parents were very fond of painting and decoration, so he started painting landscapes and urban themes for family and friends. At the age of 19 he began working at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and it was there that he felt a strong attraction to abstract subjects , so from that moment on he changed to painting those subjects.

His work is closely linked to architecture since it is very geometric , while the color and light , present in it, are given by the presence of these two elements in a country with a tropical climate, such as Cuba. His first exhibitions were at the Museum of Fine Arts, where he worked, since there was a dedicated room so that workers could exhibit frequently. Later, when he moved to live in Barcelona, ​​he continued to exhibit in cultural centers and galleries. He is currently an artist in residence at the cultural center of L'Hospitalet TPK (Pubilla Kases Workshop).
